Solo Leveling wrapped up (for now) this past weekend with the final episode of its second season — but fans don’t need to panic just yet. While there’s still no official word on a third season, the production team is keeping the excitement alive with a set of fresh illustrations that have been melting hearts across social media.
The animators from A-1 Pictures shared several original thank-you artworks online, celebrating the end of Season 2 while keeping anticipation high for what’s coming next. One standout piece was a charming chibi-style illustration of Jinwoo and his summons by Karen Hirakawa, accompanied by the heartfelt message: “Thank you for watching!”
Other artists also joined in with their own tributes. One illustrator depicted Jinwoo facing both his past and present selves, placing the old and current versions of the hunter side by side. Another focused on a post-level-100 Jinwoo, cloaked in his dark aura and surrounded by his loyal summons — a true symbol of his evolution.
One post that especially caught fans’ attention came from an animator who shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of their work desk at the A-1 Pictures studio. The image included the script for the final episode, titled “On to the Next Target,” along with adorable sketches of fan-favorite characters like Igris, Tank, Iron, and even a shadow soldier riding a giant ant.
No Official Confirmation for Season 3 (Yet)
Despite the massive success of Solo Leveling — which broke records on Crunchyroll and became one of the most celebrated manhwa adaptations ever — a third season hasn’t been confirmed yet. Fans had hoped for an announcement at the end of episode 13, but none came.
Rumors suggest that Chugong, the author of the original novel, hinted that updates might follow shortly after Season 2’s conclusion. With so much source material left to adapt — including the recruitment arc, Thomas Andre, and the Monarchs' War — it’s highly likely that the story will continue. It’s just a question of when.
What to Expect in the Next Chapter
Season 3 is expected to delve deeper into the mysteries surrounding the Gates, the System, and Jinwoo’s dark origins. Now as the Shadow Monarch, he’ll face global-level threats, including other Monarchs and the powerful Rulers.
With the newly revealed illustrations already setting the tone for what lies ahead, all that’s missing is the official green light. Until then, fans continue rewatching, dissecting each episode, and sharing art and theories as they eagerly await the next season.
Will Jinwoo’s shadow rise again in 2025?
