Ballerina Unleashes New Images Featuring Ana de Armas in Intense Scene

John Wick spin-off hits theaters in June

A fresh batch of images from Ballerina, the upcoming spin-off from the John Wick universe, has been released, showcasing Ana de Armas in a fierce new sequence. Revealed by Entertainment Weekly on Thursday (May 1), the stills offer a glimpse of the actress wielding a powerful flamethrower in a gripping scene from the film.

Director Len Wiseman described the moment as being “90% practical,” emphasizing the complexity and intensity of the sequence:
“I had never fired a flamethrower in my life. It was terrifying—setting someone on fire, even in a staged environment. And the scene went on for quite a while. It was extremely intense.”

Set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023), Ballerina follows Ana de Armas as Eve, a woman on a deadly quest for revenge after the brutal murder of her family.

Directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld, Swamp Thing) and written by Shay Hatten (John Wick 3 & 4), the film is set to hit theaters on June 5.

Road House 2 Will Be Directed by Guy Ritchie

Following its success on Amazon Prime Video, Road House is getting a sequel — and this time, acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie is taking the director’s chair alongside returning star Jake Gyllenhaal.

Ritchie, best known for hits like Snatch (2000) and Sherlock Holmes (2009), steps in to lead the franchise after Doug Liman's departure. Liman had publicly expressed his disappointment over the film’s exclusive streaming release.

So far, plot details for the sequel remain under wraps, and no additional cast members have been announced.

The movie is a reboot of the iconic 1980s action film that originally starred Patrick Swayze at the height of his career.

Road House is currently available to stream on Prime Video.
